The University of Oregon is an engine that drives the state of Oregon. From creating major businesses to doing research that benefits the full ecosystem of the state, the University’s impact is far-reaching. But the public, while very aware of the story of Nike, doesn’t know even a tenth of what the University has done beyond that.
So we decided to take people on a magical mystery tour of the state – never the same thing twice – and let them tell others in their own words. Oh, and we wouldn’t tell them where they were going. We called it Yonder.
Users would sign up on the website to commit to a bus ride into the unknown, with a certain hour commitment applied to it. Tours could range from 2 hours to 2 days with the guarantee it would be an awesome learning experience, fun, and very Duck-centric. From dropping by Columbia sportswear (an alumni-owned company) to camping at the top of Mt. Hood with John Dahlem, an alumni who completed the Explorer’s Grand Slam, nothing was off-limits.
